Norway – My epic climb to the top of Stetind

Before embarking on my month-long road trip in Norway, I had already fallen in love with Stetind. Its almost perfect obelisk shape has earned it the nickname “Norsk-Matterhorn”. This majestic mountain, known as Norway’s national mountain, rises up to 1392m above the breathtaking fjords that Norway is famous for. I knew I had to climb it.

We decided to take the normal route. The climb is not for the faint of heart, but the amazing views along the way make it all worth it. As we climbed higher, the fjords below us looked like a painting with their crystal clear waters and lush green surroundings.

The highlight of the climb was when we reached the exposed ridge. Normally, this would be the scariest part of the climb. However, the dramatic clouds that day made it less intimidating. It was like walking on a cloud, with the mountain dropping off on either side of us.

The feeling of standing at the top of Stetind was indescribable. It was a moment of complete awe and wonder. I felt like I was on top of the world, looking down at the beauty of Norway.

If you’re planning a trip to Norway, don’t miss the opportunity to climb Stetind. It’s a challenging climb, but the stunning views and the sense of accomplishment you’ll feel at the top are worth it. And who knows, maybe you’ll fall in love with it just like I did.
